Layoffs at Corvallis HP
I just got word that FAB21 at HP will be shut down. 400 permanent HP people will be laid off. This is not news to me as one of my supervisors, when I worked there as a temp worker, took me aside and told me that they were scheduled for shut down within months. That was about a year and a half ago. The sup left before I did and took early retirement. She knew it was coming. I also heard that the “package” that HP will be offering the employees is less than 1/2 of what they were offering last year. I am not sure but I was told it will be about 6 months pay. Boy, am I glad I no longer work there.
Indeed. It sure is refreshing to know that you have moved on, and are no longer part of something that, quite simply, you no longer want to be a part of.
